Exploring the Authentic Flavors of Ram Ashraya.

Do you ever have a craving for traditional comfort food? such as hot rice and dal with ghee, soft Idlis with coconut chutney, or crispy Dosa with butter. I most emphatically do.

Hotel Ram Ashraya is my go-to spot for satisfying these needs. Mr. Shyambabu Shetty established this location around 84 years ago, in the year 1939. Every day at 5 a.m., this establishment opens. If you want to go for an early morning walk or simply enjoy a real South Indian breakfast, this is the place to go. Ram Ashraya is a memorial to the numerous immigrants who came to Mumbai and helped form it into the metropolis it is today. It is within a short distance from Matunga station.

This restaurant is well-known for serving steaming dishes of Idli-Sambar, Upma, and Sheera. A big portion of Ram Ashraya's customer consists of students who flock to the restaurant from local universities because of its economical and good meal selections. Ram Ashraya, despite its enormous fame, does not have a printed menu card and instead has daily specials written on a chalkboard for diners to choose from. The eatery has added 19 new varieties of Sheera to its menu throughout time, while the basic and pineapple choices remain the most popular. The availability of different flavors varies according to the season, including mango, black grapes, and guava, etc.

If you have a craving for some delicious classic South Indian meals, you know where to go.  Please leave a comment and share your experiences with me.
As our culinary journey comes to a close, remember that every meal is an opportunity to savor and celebrate the flavors of life. Bon appétit!"
