Steeped in tradition and celebrated for their exquisite craftsmanship, D Damodar Mitaiwala has been delighting taste buds for generations. Damodar Mithaiwala, originally known as Dayaram Damodar Mithaiwala, was founded in 1937 during the pre-independence era. They were one of the first stores in Mumbai to provide Bengali sweets by bringing Bengali karigars (cooks). This treasure trove is located in Dadar T.T., also known as Khodadad circle, the heart of Mumbai. They specialise in Bengali, Parsi, dry fruit, and traditional Indian sweets. They take pleasure in the fact that they are one of the few establishments in town that manufacture Sutarfeni. An all-time favourite among Maharashtrian, Gujarati, Parsi, and, of course, Jewish clientele. They are famous even outside of Mumbai for their delicious Sutarfeni, that simply melts in the mouth. And for all you savoury fans, you must try their Aloo Kachori. This delectable snack features a warm and soft exterior that is loaded with a savoury blend of coconut, jaggery, raisins, and spices and has a satisfying crunchy crust.
